My Secret Admirer Valentine - THANK YOU! - Pic of my Pooch

To my secret Valentine Swap Partner! THANK You ! Thank you! I loved everything in this sweet box you made for me. All the hearts immediatly went on to my wire tree on my dining table. If my table was clean, I would show you a picture, but due to surgery things have gone stray at my house anbd my table is a disaster zone! Hopefully this weekend I can show you how they all look hanging on my tree, even the sweet cupid pin, which I will wear to work on Valentine's Day. I can't wait to find out who you are next week! I am sorry I had not posted sooner that I received your box I guess I thought I was to wait until the 14rth to post about the swap so I was patiently waiting. Thanks again!
On another note this is how my little buddy, Walker sleeps 95% of the time. I still laughing when I see him like this. It doesn't matter where, he likes sleeping on his back with his paws in the air.
Sorry for the blurry pic I took it with my phone trying not to wake him.

Post Op - V-Day Swap Pics

I am so glad my mom has been with me the past 5 days. She went home this afternoon to sleep in her own bed. She was a life saver for sure. I have been in bed with my foot proped up like a good little patient. The first few days after surgery I slept all day and night; mom kept me fed and iced. I took pain killers the first few days and have been trying not to take them yesterday and today. I have Ambien to take at night to help me sleep and not think of the shoe on my foot, but one night it gave me hallucinajenic ( sp?) like dreams. I felt like I was fighting to breathe while I slept until it woke me up gasping for air so I haven't taken one since. Tomorrow I go back to work. I have a feeling I am going to have to find a way to keep ,y right foot propt up ay work because after a while with it down it starts to hurt. Let alone I have to drive tomorrow! I just pray I do not get into a wreck with this shoe. I am told I will be at fault

Tomorrow I mail my swap packages and one of my swap partners wanted a sneek peek so Below are a couple of items going out the door. I guess they will have to guess. I have three partners so one is not posted yet.

Surgery

Like a few others I know I am also having surgery soon, tomorrow in fact. I am having foot surgery. Nothing too serious Bunion surgery. I think it runs in my family. My right foot hurts and has been for about a year now so I decided to do something about it this year. My mom is with me for a few days since I have to be off of it for 5 days and I have a dog and 2 cats to watch after.

I think I have taken care of everything to make things easy for my mom while she is here. I cooked a few caseroles and stocked up the pantry. I have also been working on my Ventine's day swaps. The handmade items are now done so it is just a matter of gathering evrything together and getting it all in the mail. I love everything I made, I almost don't want to mail them out, but I will. I didn't realize how fun it was to create Tussie Mussies. hint hint wink wink. I took some pictures but until they are in the mail I won't be posting them unless of course I get so bored of laying around my house for the next 5 days that I start blogging and posting.

I did find the cutest antique store nearby with a booth in it that sales great ephemera items. I snatched up lots of her vintage Valentine's. I found some really cute ones but need to scan them all before I part with some of them. Here is one I bought.

Look what I found!

I went out at lunch today in search of vintage finds. I was checking out at the store when the lady at the counter goes I have some more cards if you want to look at them and low and behold look what I found! Isn't this the cutest card.

Oh but wait this is the inside!
Ins't she the cutest! She's a paper doll and in perfect condition.
Her doll clothes were still inside the card and they have the cutest Easter sayings on the back of each of the pieces. I can't wait to use her on something! She has the sweetest little face don't you think.

I can't show my other finds just yet but will share some of them as soon as I pick out the ones I want to part with. of course I am going to scan the images of the items before I part with them. LOL . I may want to play with them later.

Ok back to work I go!

Monday Blahs & Vintage Find

It is Monday and I so did not want to go to work today. It took everything I had to get myself dressed for work. I so wanted to call in and take a personal day. I have about 36 I need to take this year. I carried 8 days over from last year and I even cashed out two weeks! I no longer can cash days out so I must use them but thankfully I can carry over 150 hours each year. Regardless I still did not want to go to work. Ever have one of those days? Hopefully the rest of the week will pick up.

I met a longtime friend for lunch and was saddened to find out she has cancer. She had a spot on her intestine last year but that was taken care of and when she went back in for her 3 month check up they did some sort of urine test and found cancer cells. Sill more body scans and MRI's and no mass anywhere. The cancer cells are floating in her body somewhere and her body is trying to fight them off and in doing so she is having so neurological issues. She goes to a neuro surgeon this week and hopefully he will have some answers for her. I pray so. She is a wonderful, beautiful lady with an incredible husband and 2 beautiful young daughters. We've been through a lot stuff together and she certainly does not need this.

I found a great use for some of my vintage postcards. I placed them in some frames in my bedroom over the holidays. Oh and the small one is a tag made by my friend, Jennifer Ellefson. Don't they all look so cute in my frames? Now to find some Vintage Valentine's ones to place in these frames.

Ok, so right before Christmas I found this cute salt and pepper shaker. They don't go with my holiday decor but they were just too darn cute to pass up. Isn't Mrs Santa adorable in her glasses. That is a mitten she is holding in her hands. I guess it is her honey's. I think I paid $7.00 for the set at a local antique store.

Stay tuned I am going to host my first blog give away later this week......
