Another Project

Here is a picture of the valence and curtains I made for my Master bedroom. I actually had to make 2 valences from the pattern I used so the 2 windows that are side by side each other would be covered. I first thought about redesigning the pattern to make one long valence but decided against that once I realized I have a center bar holding up the curtain rod and needed them to be divided anyway. I didn't show my bed since it wasn't made when I took this picture. I'll take a picture of my bed all made up tomorrow. I'm not quite sure why I went with the red and gold and black theme but somehow I did. Certainly not colors I love or ones I am normally drawn to.

My New Bed

My new bed arrived yesterday! I do think it will work for me and it fits better in my vintage room than my old pewter bed frame did. I made the duvet cover, bedskirt and pillow shams in this picture. I am not sure I love the fabric now. Funny I was in love with it when I first bought the fabric now I think I want something more vintage and purple. Why do I change my mind so fast on things like this? My curtains aren't even finished and I want to change the colors in my room. LOL. Good thing I have not painted the walls yet. Like my night stand!? LOL. I sold the one that went with my old bed last weekend so for now it is a TV tray table until I find one to go in the room. The pic is a little blurry because I took it with my cell phone this morning. You just can't be alive and use that camera.

I now have to get a new boxer spring and matress since this bed is sitting very low to the ground. Waaaaay to low for my liking. That is why the bedskirt is so long. My old bed was up higher from the floor and I am not resewing the hem. A new matress will be so nice! Now I have an excuse to buy one. LOL.

Another Home Purchase and My Craft Room to date

Above is my latest purchase for my home. I just fell in love with this lampshade last weekend. It reminded me of a vintage hat. This lovely "hat lamp" as I have now named it was on sale for 40% off and I had a $30 gift card I really needed to spend ( I had the car din hand over a year) so the lamp only cost me $44 without tax. I saw some simliar shades on lamps at Hobby Lobby but they didn' quite have this lovely shape. The shade even has some sequins on it to give it some sparkle! I think it will lovely in my vintage black/gold and red bedroom

Below is a sneek peak of my craft room in progress. That is my $40 Ikea computer desk and Ikea Shelf on the wall. Onc emy new craft table arrives I will post more pics of my craft room and hopefully it will be all finished by then.
