The bar stool and bed I bought

This is also what I bought from Ashley's this weekend. I think I spent $750 in total for 3 bar stools, 1 bed frame with both foot board and head board, and a dining/now craft table. Now back to saving for Silver Bella! I have an antique/vintage 1920's to 1930's painted black with gold accent furniture in my bedroom that I bought at an antique store in McKinney. My new bed is going to look great in my room. Out with the pewter bed.

My New Craft Table - from Ashley Furniture

My mom stayed with me this weekend and since it rained we spent all weekend shopping instead of working in the yard. I know, I know we could have worked inside the house, but no we went shopping. I had some things on my list to buy and one being new tires for my car. As we waited for the tires to be installed we wondered over to Macy's to the Clarins counter for my mom to pick up a free sample. I got asked by a VP of Clarins makeup artists to have a mini make over. Well things got strange after I said ok sure. The next thing I know I was being insulted about my skin. He started by asking me if I had ever been to a dermatologist. I kind of ignored him and asked him a question because I didn't want to go through how many and how many times I have had accutane in my life and how I am not allowed to do it anymore now the number of Dr's I have seen over the years about my acne. Now mind you I have mini break out now when it is right before that time of the month and of course it is that time now. I just stated that yes I know I need microdermabrasion on my skin. He then proceeded to go on and on about why I hadn't done it and when I told him the costs he went on and on again about how inexpensive it is now and where all I can go these days and I can have it financed now! Somewhere in the middle of this conversation with him I felt really offended. He was basically telling me how bad my skin was and there wasn't anything he could do to help me out and he was not even acting like he wanted to give my my free refresher make over that he asked me about in the first place. So I turned and walked away. Yep, I just turned and walked off. I was extremely offended. I mean I did not stop at this counter to be told how bad my skin is now from years of having severe cystic acne after my dad died! (the Dermo told me I got it from stress since it happened right after my dad died.) Yes, I know I need some Microdermabrasion done on my face but geez wasn't he there to sale make up and make you feel a little bit better about yourself not make you feel ugly! He told me he wanted to do a mini make over on me. I didn't ask for one. He never even acted like he wanted to touch my face once he started going on and on about microdermabrasion.

So later Mom and I wondered over to Ashley's Furniture store. They had a big employee sale this weekend. I only went because she wanted to go, and yet I was the one to end up going back 4 times over the weekend! That is correct I went to Ashley's once on Saturday and 3 times on Sunday. I bought this cool table to be used as my new craft table. It is a 34" wide pub high dining table with 4 drawers 2 on each side and 2 pop up leafs. It is high enough so if I want to stand and scrap I can and big enough for two people to share the table together. Then if I want to cut fabric on it I can open it up as needed. I got it for just $283.00. The only thing I dislike about it is that it is not black, but oh well I can change that if I want to. It had a list price of $800, an Ashley price of $400 and something, then it was marked down to $351 and I got it for $283. I applied for credit to get it at 12 months no interest. I was granted way more credit that I wanted or needed. So I go to thinking I needed bar stools maybe that had some on sale. Sure enough I found a bar stool I loved for my living room. I bought 2. With the sale price they were only $106 a piece. I have been looking at bar stools for over a year now and the ones I liked were always $169 to $200 dollars a piece.

trip # 2 - Got home and realized I really needed 3 bar stools for my bar. Returned to Ashley's for 1 more bar stool.

trip # 3 - went to an Ashley's in Frisco, Tx - Near Ikea. ( I had to go there again this month!) I didn't want to go in but my mom wanted to. We started walking around when I found a black iron looking bed frame. Ticket price $250, but then they had a special pricing cost of $100 for the head board and $90 for the foot board. but everything was still on sale with a 20% discount! To only pay one delivery fee I had to go back to the original store where I purchased the table! So I found my 20's to 30's looking black iron bed and I only paid $150 for it! I have been looking on the side for one but was in no hurry. I knew when I found it I would then buy it.

trip # 4 - back to Ashley's to purchase black bed frame.

I am excited about my new purchases. I know I will have them paid off in less than a year. They will arrive in a few weeks and I can hardly wait! Now to sale the bed and nightstand I have now on ebay or somewhere.

Wed. I mean Tuesday!

Geesh all day I thought it was Wed. the 13rth. I had my manager thinking it was wed as well. We were all set to go to a meeting across the street when I couble checked my outlook calendar, it was still the 12th and our meeting it tomorrow! No wonder I didn't get my 15 min reminder notice. Monday flew by at work and so did today. I hope this helps to make it feel like a short week. :-)

After work I headed back to Pottery Barn with my mom to return a chair. You see last year I bought my first kitchen table fo rmy new house at bassett furniture. It was one of those design your own. I really wanted a Pottery barn table but I just could not afford it, so the day I happened in to bassett they were having a 50% off sale on one item only that day, so I bought my kitchen table. The builders had not even started building my house and I was buying a table. Bassett held the table until my house was built thankfully. Well at that time I didn't have th emoney to buy 4 to 6 chairs. I figured I could buy them this year. Well I can but now Bassett no longer offers the design your own chairs. Well not like when I bought my table. I was looking forward to picking out the legs to match my table but when I got to Bassett I discovered not only could I not design my own chair they did not have any chairs with legs that matched my table! I was so bummed! Now what do I do? So I wondered over to Pottery Barn hoping they had black chairs to match. I bought a floor sample but it did not match. My table has a little bit more sheen on it than the Pottery Barn chairs. Oh well I guess I am stuck buying some Bassett chairs after all. Now to wait for their next 20% off sale.

And since I was at Pottery barn it was not much to drive to IKEA yet again. My 3rd trip this month. I never go to Ikea. But I got some more things to finish organizing my craft room. I seem to be in an organizing mood. Hopefully I will be all organized when all the fun starts on the Silver Bella website I am itching to get my creative mojo back.

Ok that is all for now. I just pray I sleep through the night tonight!

Still no Velvet...

I guess I should admit that she will never come back. I was out in my backyard today wth my dog and I tought I heard a cat crying. It gave me hope. The sound was coming from the country home behind me. I decided then to check out an area of the country home's yard down at the end of my street. There is still an empty lot on my street. As I got closer I did hear a cat meowing. I got very excited and thought this was my long lost Velvet and she was just stuck in this barn. My cousin's daughter came over and helped my climb over the barbed wire fence. It was that or a fence surrounded by poison ivy. I climbed over to only find out it was a very tiny kitten that would cry louder everytime I called out for Velvet and ran as I got closer to it. I had gotten all excited for nothing. I really thought it was my sweet Velvet.

Above is a picture of my 3 of my 4 fur babies, but I guess I am back to three again just not these three. Velvet is the grey kitty on the right and in the center of the center picture. I had her since she was about 4 weeks old. a co worker found her and gave her to me.

Oh and I did speak to the country home owners and they know the kitty is back there and they are trying to catch it. It is pretty ferrell and they have yet to catch it. They are leaving food out for it.

On another note my craft room is coming along very nicely. I hope to have some photos posted soon. I have to go back to Ikea to get some more boxes and a shelf. Hopefully I will be crafting all weekend!

Count Down to Silver Bella's

I am going to Silver Bella's http://teresamcfayden.typepad.com/silverbella/ in November! I can hardly wait! It is about all things glittery and handmade. I am in awe already of some of the ladies that are going this year! WOW! Such amazing talent! I do no thave an online website, I have never been published, I am not on a design team, I'm just a person that likes to do crafts and sew, and I tend to collect crafts supplies with great intentions of making stuff but I just never do. I am hoping this event and these ladies will be just the kick in the read I need to get me moving again!.

on another note, my beautifull tiny cat Velvet is gone. She walked out a little over a week ago and she has not come back. I have done everything I can do. I just hope and pray now that someone found her and has given her a great home. She was my winter foot warmer and I miss her.
